  3. If last year was the year of the Internet, this year is certainly the year
  4. of the Web.  Following the style and format of SAM's Teach Yourself series,
  5. TEACH YOURSELF WEB PUBLISHING WITH HTML is a tutorial that if followed
  6. daily for seven days will teach you to become proficient with the HTML
  7. language.  You'll read two chapters a day which will present one or 
  8. two Web concepts.  By weeks end you will be able to create home pages, 
  9. present information about products and services and create multimedia 
  10. presentations combining text, images video and sound.

  12. Day One explains the World Wide Web and Hypertext.  Day Two introduces you
  13. to HTML and Hypertext links.  Day Three covers more about HTML, links and
  14. URLs.  Day Four concentrates on multimedia on the Web.  Day Five shows you
  15. how to design effective Web documents.  Day Six explains servers and 
  16. gateways and Day Seven goes over some advanced topic and tips.

  18. After you have followed the HTML course of study, TEACH YOURSELF WEB
  19. PUBLISHING WITH HTML will serve as a desk reference.  Appendices include
  20. sources for additional information and a summary of HTML commands.

  22. Author Lemay has done an outstanding job with this fine tutorial.  I must
  23. confess I did not follow the course of study but reading through the
  24. text showed me that it is written in clear, unimposing language with
  25. a fine sense of humor that will make it as easy as possile for amyone
  26. (including me) to learn HTML painlessly and easily in a very short time.
  27. I plan to devote a week to following the tutorial (when I have a bit of
  28. time) and learn HTML.  I predict it will be a valuable (and marketable) 
  29. skill to have in the very new future.
